Thermo Scientific Hybaid PCR Sprint Thermal Cycler
Thermo Scientific Hybaid Sprint PCR thermal cycler has been the primary solution for facilities with sub-ambient thermal cycler requirements and relatively low sample volumes. This powerful thermal cycler offers unprecidented temperature consistancy across the block as well as unmatched testing accuracy via its incorporation of peltier technology. All Hybaid Sprint PCR thermal cyclers come with an heated oil free as well as two options in thermal cycler block well formats (0.2mL x 24 and 0.5mL x 20). With the added benefit of interchangable thermal cycler blocks, laboratories can easily make a switch when testing requirements are altered!
The Hybaid company which has been known for its PCR Sprint thermal cycler and its PCR Express thermal cycler for years, has released its own version of block gradient thermal cycler. With an emphasis placed on maintaining temperature uniformity, Hybaid offers gradient blocks which can be fitted to the PCR thermal cycler and is capable of running gradient as well as normal thermal cycler testing. Hybaid makes the claim to be the sole company to produce thermistors built-in the thermal cycler which take true sample temperature readings. There are dwell time differentials between the annealing temperatures usually when determining gradient protocols for your thermal cycler. Hybaid combats this issue with its system for controlling temperature known as Active Tube as well as software which combine to accurately determine internal sample temperatures. The combination of these solutions allow for thermal cycler annealing temperature percision to within 0.5 degrees Celcius.

When speaking of new technologies, the issue of material science is bound to make its way into the conversation. When it comes to silicates, synthetic polymers, or even Bucky balls, the options of molecular makeup is seemingly unbounded which can address any issue. In situations where designers are faced with a lack of technical ideas for improving the mechanical functionality of a particually vexing issue, the often turn to material science to provide a solution. Thermal cycler makers perform testing with a wide array of materials to help increase the accuracy and repeatability of their products. It has been discovered that silver-gold thermal cycler blocks work quite optimally for pcr testing applications, although many blocks are made from aluminum which is covered a surface which is hard-anodized of corundum cystals. Biometra and Stratagene are two of the other companies that have made the move from aluminum to silver-plated gold and nickel-plated copper..
